A weekend with sissy and Tristan

What a wonderful weekend we had. So blessed to have a sister and even more blessed that our boys are less than five months apart. Tanner adores Tristan and his Aunt Whitney. He calls her "sissy". I guess after hearing me calling her that all weekend he just picked up on it and it is probably a lot easier to say than Aunt Whitney. LOL The weather was beautiful all weekend. We played outside most of the time and the boys had a blast. Tanner got a swing set for Christmas and Billy and his dad have worked hard out there to put down nice rubber mulch and square it off with railroad ties. We had it cleaned up real good back there and as part of getting ready for the swing set Billy's folks had some trees trimmed for us. Super nice! They are good to us and it is nice that Tanner has all his family near by. :) I am hoping some grass grows back there this spring. It should since we had all those limbs cut and one tree taken out completely. I love having all the trees back there though. WE had lunch back there on Saturday and the boys had a blast. They loved playing in the dirt and sliding down the slide. I could not have asked for a more perfect weekend. My mom is always getting them matching T shirts and stuff and they are so cute running around together. This week she got them dinosaur T shirts. ADORABLE! We took them for a ride in the wagon around the neighborhood. Tanner still loves his wagon and he got that for his first birthday from meme and grampy. Good investment on that one meme and grampy! I love having these boys in my life. It brought back a few memories from my own childhood. My dad built us a tree house and I loved playing in it. We all did. I remember playing dolls up there and climbing up and down on those boards that were just nailed to the tree trunk. SO FUN!! I love making memories with Tanner now. We are truly blessed to have such wonderful family on both sides.

Back into a routine!

I have not posted in awhile. It is amazing how quickly time goes and I only have one child. We are good. Nice being back into
a routine after the holidays and my BIG marathon weekend. The Marathon was awesome and it was so nice having Billy and Tanner there at the end with three roses when we crossed the finished line. I ran it with Ashlee and Daren and we finished in 4 hours and 44 minutes. Pretty amazing. We stopped along the way to drink and use the bathroom and of course see the sights. ( it was DISNEY after all) but the rest of the time we ran. It was awesome. I am trying to teach Tanner about health and being active. My sister and nephew are coming this weekend and I look forward to spending time outside with them and playing. The weather will be nice and I really look forward to making lattes with my sister and watching a movie. But most of all I look forward to sitting and talking. With our lives being so full it is nice to be able to slow down and just enjoy the moment. I do not know what 2012 holds for Billy, Tanner, and I. I do know that we have some goals and wishes and we are trusting God with all of it. I am blessed with awesome friends and family and I am grateful!!

Things that Tanner says

I love how much Tanner is talking now. He so sweet and so smart. I tell him often how sweet, kind, loving, smart, and special he is. I really want him never to forget that ever. He says the sweetest things lately. I thought if I jotted some down I would not forget. Yesterday as we were walking into MOPS I set him down and was gathering the diaper bag etc and we started walking in and he stopped and said "hand mama hand" I held his hand and we walked all the way to his room like that. It made my heart melt cause I never want him to stop holding my hand. He says the same thing at dinner now as we bow our heads to pray and if we forget to hold hands Tanner gently reminds us. He will say "hand daddy" or" hand mama". He loves coming home. If we have been out at the gym, grocery store, bank, or any other errand and we finally get back home he will say" yay home" I love that! I feel that way too. Or if we have to go somewhere and it is not too fun for a two year old he will tell me "mama go home" I love that he is talking in sentences now. He is 26 months old and so smart. I look forward to teaching him all kinds of things this year. He is still sleeping wonderful in his crib and still on a wonderful sleep schedule. He takes two to three hour naps in the afternoon and sleeps from 8 to about 7 every night. He loves Nani. He climbs into his doggie bed with him often and is constantly hugging him. (sometimes a little too rough) Today as he naps I am thinking about this weekend. I am running my first marathon on Sunday. 26.2 miles. i am nervous BUT oh so excited!! We are headed down to Disney in the morning. I love my husband so much. I have really admired him lately. I watch how he works hard, how he is being the leader of this house, how we pray together, how he supports my dreams and goals, how we are able be there for each other, and how when he is wrong or has acted poorly towards loved ones I watch him ask God to truly help him with that. I am truly blessed. Billy and I both have very bold personalities.Often a strength but at the same time gets us into trouble sometimes. :) I love how we are courageous and outgoing but we are both also asking God to help us be humble and caring toward others. We both truly LOVE people. I am super excited to be running this race with my girl Ashlee. All through training she has helped me push forward and laughing every step of the way. Every time I get nervous I just think how well we did running our twenty milers and how we laughed and talked all the way through our twenty-two miler. I am so blessed to have her as my friend and running partner. I look forward to 2012 and know if I lean on God and seek his will all will be well.
