Life seems to be moving fast these days. My boys are growing and it's fun and challenging all at the same time. Tanner and I did our first 5k together. The best part was our time together. WE trained often and I got to really connect with him. I realize he can get overwhelmed at times and being around a lot of adults will stress him. I have learned to care less about what others think and more about connecting to the heart of my child. He was overwhelmed at first but he pushed through his fear and we had fun. It was pouring rain and he jumped in every puddle along the way but we finished. He told me the other day " MOMMY can we run together some more." I love it!! Tanner is finishing up his year at Madison Street as a big Kindergartener. He has done really well and as a mommy I have spent a lot of time and energy working with him on writing, homework, and reading. He has had projects to do, math to work on and even learning Spanish. YES a lot different from when I was in Kindergarten. I am proud of him! We have had our good days and our bad days but Tanner loves school and he is my sweet reading buddy!! We enjoy our special time together. We read new books last night. SO sweet. We read Many Moons, Blue Birdhouse, and Reading to Peanut. I love that he has such a love for books. We have gone on many adventures together through literature. We read everyday! He has other subjects that he struggles in but he still is doing very well. Billy and I both spend time writing with him and doing math. He is also learning respect and manners. Billy and I miss the mark often but we certainly work at teaching values and love. No one likes to be around a disrespectful, rude, and self absorbed person. I fall short on days too but God gives me grace and so I have to remember that with my children. My love for my family is abundant and I work at serving them because it is what GOD has called me to do. It can be a demanding job very often. I am so thankful for my relationship with my Savior and the people God has blessed us with a long the way. Holden loves riding bikes. He rides his little bike all the time and he still rides with me on the big bike. We rode around the neighborhood last week selling Sonny's tickets to our neighbors. We sold to 3 different neighbors and it was fun. He loves being active and I am enjoying my time with him. He loves giving me stuff and when I was so so sick last week and Billy was out of town both my boys would not go far from me and would bring me water and blankets. SO SWEET!! Everyone told me that little boys love their mamas and both of mine certainly do. My verse this week is whatever you do work at with all your heart as working for the Lord and not for men. Colossians 3:23
This is our story! The days are long but the years are truly short. I want to remember these precious days with my children and husband and this blog will help me do that.
