All in a day

A day can mean a lot of things. For me many things happen in a day. Yesterday was a wonderful day. An ordinary day. A blessed day. There was waking at 5 and talking to God. I ask him everyday to help be a wife, a daughter, a sister, and a friend. These days though the job I need the most help with is motherhood. Some seasons seem really long when you are in them and when they are gone it's like the blink of an eye. After taking time for God it was hit the ground running. I got Breakfast for the boys. Lunch made for Tanner and Billy. Then off to take to Tanner to school and of course hitting the library first for AR testing. I then hit the morning NA meeting at 8 and after that met one of Holden's friends for a play date at the indoor playground. Then home for lunch and nap (for Holden at least) I did  some laundry and cleaned up kitchen and cleaned up a bit too. Then it was off at 2 to pick up Tanner from school. After that we hit the public library for more books to read. A highlight for us. All while addressing behaviors here and there. Especially with Holden listening and following directions. :) He is independent to the core. After getting home the boys went in the backyard and dressed up in there Star Wars get up and played while I cooked a nice healthy dinner. Stuffed Peppers and brown rice. (mac and cheese and apple sauce for the boys) Billy got home at 6:30 and we ate and laughed. He was telling the boys about the days of Run DMC and 80s music. Billy is good with the boys. He loves imitating voices and doing theatrical stuff with them and for them. WE cleaned up the kitchen and gave the boys baths and headed off to read. Billy was falling asleep at the foot of Holden's bed with Tanner laying across him. Holden was sitting in between my legs and I was getting lots of snuggles. We read 4 new books. A really good day. One of those days that go smooth. Even the time outs were uneventful. The days you are grateful for BECAUSE you know they won't all be that way. Motherhood is fun! It is also full of ever changing seasons. Praising God for this day and trying not to spoil it by looking back or forward too much. All in a DAY!!

Mommy son dance 2016

I was so blessed to take my sweet boys to dinner and the mother/son dance on Saturday. We enjoyed dinner at Cody's Steak House and then danced and had ice cream at the mother son dance and I really enjoyed being with them. The pictures are form the last 4 years. Starting in 2012 with Tanner being 2 years old and me being pregnant with Holden 11 weeks. I love raising these boys. Holden is wild and fun and so sweet and tender. Tanner is interesting and loving and kind.Holden  loved attending his first dance and I look forward to many more memorable events with these 2. When I longed for a child and prayed for a baby God knew all along he would give me these 2 sweet and awesome boys. I'm thanking GOD this Mother's Day and Everyday. I can't slow down LIFE but I can sure count my blessings and enjoy the ride.
